Hello, this is the news page. Any news about my career or web site changes will be posted here! Please check back from time to time to see upgrades to my web site. The last year or so has been pretty tough because my dad died and then my kid sister. During that time I did manage to get my article published in the International Artist's Magazine and was ajudicated into the Oil Painters of America. In 2008 I have two solo show's. One is slated for the beginning of April at the Westend Gallery here in Victoria and in their affiliate gallery in Edmonton for May. Main Street Gallery has also asked that I be part of a group show for August. If you live in Victoria pick up a copy of Focus magazine in April and read what Linda Rogers has to say about me.

June 09, 2008

It's the anniversary of my sister's death today. I went up to Englishman River and scattered some of her ashes which I had kept in a small urn. It was a sad day. A day full of memories.

I got a call from my mother today and she informed me that another article came out about my impressionist work in International Artist Magazine. It is edition #61. I'm running out tomorrow to get my copy. The previous article was about my abstract art published back in 2007. I was a little shocked to hear this news because no one gave me the heads up that this article would be published. I prepared it about three years ago but they shelved it and did the abstract article called 'Inside the Creative Mind' instead. Needless to say I'm quite pleased about this.

December, 2008

Several months ago I was approached by the Mountain Galleries offering me representation. They are located in the Fairmount Hotels in Whistler, Jasper and Banff. I was out of the Diana Paul Galleries for about a year but have recently shipped them some new art. I'm hoping to visit all these galleries in the new year.

Painting is such a strange vocation. We artists rarely get to see who purchases our art. It would be like performing on stage every night but when the curtain goes up there is no audience. Some nights we get paid so we know someone had to have been there but most nights it is just a sea of empty chairs.

Thankyou to all the people who dropped by my show on Sunday. It was a good turnout and I appreciate your moral and for those who purchased, your financial support.

October 17 2009 Show and sale at the Diana Paul Galleries

I have an upcoming solo show at the Diana Paul Galleries on October 17th the reception runs from 12 P.M. to 5 P.M and I'll be in attendence although maybe a little bit late because the earliest plane I could get lands at just after 11 A.M After that I'm heading to Ontario for some color and then Florida for sand and surf.

November 15th 2009

I'm back in Victoria ready to embark on a new series for the upcoming year. My Calgary Show was a success and I wanted to thank everyone who took the time to come down to the Diana Paul Gallery. It was a great opportunity for me to meet art lovers and in particular those people who purchased my art. I rarely get the opportunity to meet the buyers. One thing I learned was that more often than naught the reason a painting resonates with a collector is the same one that caused me to create it.

A pleasant and flattering surprise that came out of this was Swerve magazine's article about my show. Neither I or Diana Paul Galleries realized they were going to run this. Thank you Swerve Magazine for the wonderful article!!!
